What is Altitude Chamber/Hypobaric Chamber ?

Details of Altitude Chamber/Hypobaric Chamber

The altitude chamber/hypobaric chamber is a device that combines temperature, altitude and optional humidity environments to enable simultaneous testing of multiple environments.Altitude Chamber/Hypobaric Chamber allows the user to precisely control the temperature inside the chamber and test the product under test at varying altitudes up to 100,000 feet and up to 150,000 feet in extended configurations.

The combination of these elements(Altitude Chamber/Hypobaric Chamber) accurately simulates the various environmental conditions that a product may encounter in actual use, thus providing a comprehensive assessment of the product’s performance and reliability in extreme environments.A highly accurate control system ensures that temperature, altitude and humidity are stabilized to provide reliable test results. The altitude chamber is widely used in the aerospace, defense, electronics and automotive industries to help manufacturers predict and improve the reliability and durability of their products, as well as optimize product design and enhance product quality.

Test Standards of Altitude Chamber/Hypobaric Chamber

  • Mil-Std 202G (conditions 105C, A/B/C/F)
  • Mil-Std 810G (condition 500.5)
  • IEC 60068-2-39
  • IEC 60068-2-40
  • RTCA/DO-160F
  • JIS W 0812

Application of Altitude Chamber/Hypobaric Chamber

Altitude Chamber/Hypobaric Chamber are suitable for the following tests on products (complete machines), components and materials:

  • Altitude Chamber/Hypobaric Chamber are suitable for the following tests on products (complete machines), components and materials:
  • High and low temperature tests: to evaluate the performance of products under extreme temperature conditions.
  • Hight simulation test: Simulate the altitude environment not higher than 30,000 meters above sea level or 45,000 meters above sea level.
  • High and Low Temperature Cycle Test: Repeatedly conduct alternate cycle tests at high and low temperatures to check the durability of the product.
  • Temperature-Altitude Comprehensive Test: Comprehensive test under different altitude and temperature conditions.

Both of the following types of sampling can be performed using a Altitude Chamber/Hypobaric Chamber:

  • Heat dissipation test samples: During the test, the heat dissipation power cannot exceed the cooling capacity of the test chamber. It should be noted that the cooling capacity is a dynamic value, which will vary with temperature changes.
  • Non-heat dissipation test samples: no need to consider the heat dissipation power limit.
Through the above tests, the reliability and performance of the product under different environmental conditions can be comprehensively assessed.
